The Pod of Curious Minds is a class that aims to foster a love for literature in a positive and nurturing environment while building confidence, making friends, and having fun! Each participant will receive a chapter book and will be asked to read one or two chapters per week. The class will take place outdoors, picnic-style, where we will gather on a blanket and discuss our favorite parts of each chapter, ask questions, and talk about important themes in the book. We will also engage in creative projects related to the book and I will share easy recipes that students can make at home and bring to share (optional) during the following class. At the end of each book, we will have a movie night based on the book. Importantly, this class is not about testing reading skills or public speaking abilities; it’s simply an opportunity to enjoy ourselves as we turn the pages of our books and strengthen our bonds as a group.
