FALL 2022 ENGINEERING and STEM
Discover the many applications of engineering in the real world. Which field of engineering will your child love the best? Students will explore chemical engineering: food chemistry, scents, and household items. Civil engineering unit will include design of structures, bridges, and towers. Electrical engineering design to cover circuitry and machines. Mechanical engineering study to include industrial design, automotive, and flight.
There will be weekly experiments, home reading, and written assignments. We will have a midterm quiz and semester end test. Class is aligned with NEXT GEN SCIENCE Standards for 6th-8th grade students.

SPRING 2023 LIFE SCIENCE
Preparation for high school Biology. Students will explore cells, diversity of living things, living systems, ecosystems, and related topics. Some weeks will include dissections. Teacher will consult with students at the beginning of the year to determine which specimens to dissect according to comfort level. Possible dissections to include worm, frog, and squid or fish.
