Introduction to Literature
This course will focus on a variety of genres from short story, to poetry, speeches, novels, etc. An emphasis will be placed on understanding the ways in which literature helps humans clarify their thinking and understand the lives they are living. Integrated into the course will be opportunites for students to practice both academic and creative writing, verbally interact with peers and their instructor, and learn to read and write critically and eloquently. The course will give opportunites for students to fulfill the academic requirements expected by college admissions teams, but will also encourage students to foster curiosity and love of literature.
