Class Description
“Play is often talked about as if it were a relief from serious learning. But for children, play is serious learning. Play is really the work of childhood.” – Mr. Fred Rogers
Gameschooling is about using the knowledge and skills learned and putting them into practice through play. Math facts (addition, subtraction, multiplication), reading skills, vocabulary will be practiced and used in a fun way. The games played in class will touch on a variety of subjects such as math, spelling, vocabulary, science, geography and history. Strategy, reasoning, critical thinking, logic, problem solving, cooperation and community building will be taught through a variety of games.
Some of the games will be Scrabble, Apples to Apples, Bingo, Charades, Word ladder, Scattergories, Where in the world is Carmen San Diego, Rummikub, Going to Boston and many more.
