Course Description: This introductory course explores basic language patterns and vocabulary. The focus is on all four language skills; reading, writing, speaking, and listening, to help students achieve a basic level of proficiency. Topics covered include common expression of greeting, introductions, nouns, and articles, the Spanish alphabet, numbers, vocabulary associated with school, friends, family, and names for people, and grammar concepts appropriate for level 1. Culture and geography are also integrated through readings, and supported and enhanced by multimedia. They will also write scripts in Spanish and record themselves speaking the language.
